Excellent Growth Prospects

During a tour of the company and laboratory, the visitors discussed the current goals and challenges of the Life Science Nord Gold member with Dr. Frank Horling, Managing Director of BioAgilytix Europe. The main focus was on how the life sciences and the constantly growing ecosystem surrounding biotech, pharmaceuticals and laboratories contribute to the economic success of the region.

Since the European headquarters was founded in 2016, BioAgilytix has grown considerably. Starting with 20 employees, the company has become increasingly successful and now employs over 120 team members. In 2022, BioAgilytix invested heavily in the expansion of the office and laboratory space on site. "With this expansion, we are responding to our customers' growing demand for large molecule bioanalytics. By almost doubling the laboratory space to around 1,200 square meters, we have been able to accommodate several additional state-of-the-art technology platforms," reported Dr. Horling.

"The company's growth here in Hamburg is a great example of the opportunities we already offer the life science sector in the north. Together with the Life Science Nord cluster, we are working on continuing along this successful path. This is not only beneficial for the location itself, but also for northern Germany as a whole with its increasing visibility," said Andreas Rieckhof during his visit to the BioAgilytix laboratories.

Focus on Biotherapeutics

In addition to Hamburg, the Contract Research Organization (CRO) BioAgilytix has five additional laboratories globally: three in the USA and two in Australia. The site in northern Germany specializes in bioanalytics for the preclinical and clinical development of biotherapeutics. A team of experienced scientists and QA experts offers highly developed services for biomarkers, immunogenicity, pharmacokinetics, and cell-based assays in accordance with GLP, GCP and GMP standards.
